WORKSHOPS
Autobiographical Awareness and Leadership
This workshop is geared to leaders who wonder about their exercise of power and authority in an era where authority figures and symbols are often treated mercilessly. How, while staying the course, can you act in a correct and responsible manner as a leader, lucidly acknowledging the imprint of your education and temperament as well as the influence of contexts and other people on your actions?
During this workshop, we pay particular attention to:
- The imprint of our life experience with power and authority
- Our inner life and our action in the world as its reflection
- The conscious exercise of power, authority and leadership

My life as a Work of Art
Through visualization exercises and writing, you become aware of the leitmotiv of your life. You discover the textures and contours of this work of art, always in evolution, that you have been creating since your birth. Contacting your intuition, you articulate a personal vision that reflects your deepest aspirations. During the workshop, you are encouraged towards full self-expression by using different art forms aimed at liberating your creative energy. You become aware of thought patterns and habits of the heart that constitute obstacles to self-realization. You receive individual coaching aimed at concretely supporting you in your desire to make your life a work of art.
The following themes are explored:
- Our destiny's hidden code
- Personal vision and full self-expression
- The "maître d'oeuvre" in action

Work as Inquiry
In this two-day workshop, you become engaged in a dynamic inquiry as to the place of work in your life and the changing meaning that you have ascribed to it over time. You are invited to examine your currently operative assumptions about work, including those that were passed on through parents and other people influential in your life. The inquiry is grounded in actual, lived work experiences in order to get in touch with the emotional, intellectual and physical imprint of the past on the formation of your identity. The process of questioning may also bring to the foreground salient distinctions in thought and experience that may have remained unexamined to this day. You are encouraged to take a look at your hopes and fears about the anticipated place that work will take in you life, and to expand your imagination of what might be.
You will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the freedom that comes from approaching work as inquiry.

Presence: The Essence of Leadership
To be effective as a leader in an ever-changing organizational world, we must be able to access another form of intelligence than the analytic and strategic intelligence on which we tend to rely almost exclusively. In order to make judicious decisions, we can draw upon our contextual intelligence by being mindful of the subtle aspects of a moment's experience. This mindfulness implies, for instance, an awareness of what is happening within ourselves and in the space between people. It includes an awareness the emotional texture of the situation and its emerging patterns. Being more present allows us to access our intuition and wisdom, which are less available when we focus only on our rational understanding of events.
This two-day workshop promotes a renewed contact with the five senses by which you apprehend external reality and with your proprioception (perception of internal body sensations). In order to become more aware of the swift transition from perceiving an event to the meaning derived from emotions and your structure of interpretation, you will be introduced to mindfulness techniques. The workshop itself, from beginning to end, is a practice field of mindfull behaviour. It is based on the premise that a truly present leader attracts by his/her spontaneity and by the appropriateness of his/her interventions. You will be supported in finding ways to transfer workshop learnings to the workplace.

PROGRAMS
Collaborative Inquiry Groups
In these small learning communities, you develop your skills in the art of asking questions and listening deeply. You learn how to remain present to yourself and to others, having recourse to several types of intelligence. Ideally, action-inquiry groups are composed of six managers or professionals with similar levels of responsibility. Participants come from different work environments or from different departments within a same organization. To participate, you must commit to attending all meetings which usually take place one full-day a month or one full-day every six weeks. With a facilitator, you explore your ways of exercising leadership and assuming responsibilities, according to the four dimensions of reality presented in Ken Wilber’s work. A personal project, anchored in the reality of your everyday work, serves as ground for inquiry. In these groups, participants help and support one another, through peer coaching, in developing everyone’s skills for acting effectively and with contextual sensitivity. You will have the opportunity to observe your patterns of attention and inattention. Through the practice of inquiry, you will become better able to recognize your assumptions about the world, life, your organization and yourself, and to see how your actions are linked with your deep assumptions and intentions. The competencies you practise in these groups allow you to manage continuous change with greater ease and consciousness.
Facilitators: Louis Roy and/or Marie-Ève Marchand
Fees : Determined according to the type of support requested and the frequency of meetings.
Date and place: As negotiated. This programme is given upon request.
Individual Coaching
ECODA offers individual coaching programs, according to an integral method of human development.
Coaches certified by Integral Coaching Canada®; Marie-Ève Marchand and Hélène Morais.
What means an integral approach to human development ?
It is a type of coaching that addresses the person as a whole. The foundation of this coaching method lies in the work of the famous contemporary thinker, Ken Wilber, and on recent discoveries in adult development by a Harvard University professor, Robert Kegan. Change is at the heart of coaching whether one is seeking life balance, better interpersonal relations, owning one’s power or rethinking the orientation of one’s life.
The integral coaching method makes it possible to discern, behind what preoccupies the client, the patterns that have influenced his choices to this date. By becoming more conscious of his underlying tendencies, the client, supported by his/her coach, starts acting differently. Awareness is not enough. Change requires sustained action and this is often where the greatest challenge resides.
